How to copy a course from one semester to another in Canvas.

Resolution:

1. Start in your new course. For example, if you are moving a course from the Fall semester to Spring semester, you would begin in the empty Spring course.
2. Click Import Existing Content from the menu on the right side of the page.
3. On the next screen, click the Content Type drop down menu and select Copy a Canvas Course.
4. On the following screen, enter the name of your course in the Search for a Course area. Search using the course name (e.g., ENGL-1234-01). You will see list of all courses in Canvas with that name. You'll choose the course from the semester that you are copying from (e.g., ENGL-1234-01 Fall 2021).
5. You have the option of copying all content or specific content.
   NOTE: If you select the specific content option, you are required to select the content you want to import after you review the remaining page options.
   After you start importing the content, the import selection cannot be canceled.
6. You can also choose to adjust events and due dates. This article has more information how to do that.
7. Click Import to copy the course.
