How to Add Learning Outcomes at the Course Level (Instructors)

To add a learning outcome to your Canvas course, follow the steps below.

1. Navigate to the course you are teaching.
2. Click Outcomes on the navigation menu.
3. Click the +Outcome button to create a new outcome.
4. On the new outcome page you can name the outcome, add a friendly name that students will see and add a description.
5. After the outcome has been created, you can edit the criterion ratings, mastery and calculations levels and calculation method.
6. When the new outcome has been created you can view it in your Outcomes section.
