Panopto is a third party tool that is integrated into Canvas which means it has a working relationship with Canvas, but is not a part of Canvas.
Any course content recordings made in Panopto for previous courses delivered via Blackboard will be available for use in Canvas if desired. Content in Panopto will not be deleted when we switch to Canvas.
A unique Panopto Content folder is created each semester for each course in Canvas. It is important to use the specific folder for that semester as Permissions to view content are also managed by Panopto.
If instructors link to a previous semester's recording from their current course, students will not have permission to view that content as they were not in the previous semester's course. An email from Panopto will be generated and sent to the instructor requesting the instructor to grant permission for the student to view the content. Using the proper Panopto Content folder for the current semester will avoid that issue.
