Overview:

As an incoming student, your on boarding process can be a bit overwhelming. This article is meant to make the technology issues you face a little less intimidating by providing access to answers in one location. Below you will find links to software, specific resources, and explanations of how to handle many of your computing needs. Setting Up Your Password:

Computer Updates:

SLU recommends that most student laptops setup automatic security updates. HOWEVER, we ask that you check with the AskSLU desk in the Academic Tech Commons on the main floor of Pius Library before upgrading your operating system. Whether you're considering updating to the latest version of Windows or macOS, stop by the AskSLU desk to make sure that the software you need to run is compatible with the latest OS.

Installing Alternate Web Browsers:

It always helps to have options and we rely on web browsers for much of what we do these days.
In addition to your operating system's web browser (Edge for Windows and Safari for macOS), these are two useful alternatives.
