The Three Wireless Networks at SLU:
- SLU-users is fully-encrypted connection available for the SLU community and requires the customer type their SLU Net Id and Password in for credentials.
- sluguest is not encrypted and available for those without a SLU Net Id and password who need access.This is a highly locked down network, only allowing for light Google searching, email checking, and flight check-ins.
- eduroam is fully-encrypted connection available to individuals visiting campus from other institutions within the Eduroam consortium. This network requires their credentials from their institution.
Connecting to SLU-users:
For instructions to connect an Android device to SLU-users, click HERE.
- On your device's list of available networks, select SLU-users.
- When asked to log in, enter your SLU Net ID and password.
- If prompted, trust the network.
Connecting to sluguest:
- Select sluguest from the list of available wireless networks.
- You will be directed to https://expressconnect.slu.edu/enroll/SaintLouisUniversity/guestwireless.
- Sometimes individual device settings and pop-up blockers may prevent the device from launching expressconnect.slu.edu.
In such cases, open the device's Internet browser manually and enter the URL from above to navigate directly to the page.
- Select Social Media Login to authenticate with Facebook, LinkedIn, or Google credentials,
or (alternatively) select Text or Email Code to have a verification sent to your phone or email.
- Complete the process based on instructions presented.
- You should now have Internet access from this device.
Connecting to eduroam:
NOTE: The eduroam access point is for visiting students and colleagues from other institutions.
If you have a SLU account, you should connect to SLU-users instead.
If you are a SLU faculty member, staff member, or student looking for instructions to connect to the eduroam Wi-Fi at sister Eduroam institutions, click HERE.
- While connected to another wireless network or your cellular data plan, go to https://cat.eduroam.org .
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Click here to download your eduroam installer button.
- A window will pop up asking you to select your organization. Choose your institution from the list.
- On the following screen, click on the Download your eduroam installer (your operating system) button.
- Your browser may warn you that this type of file can harm your computer. Choose to keep the file.
- Run the file once downloaded and follow the instructions. This will install the eduroam wireless profile on your device.
- When prompted for your username and password, use the information provided to you by your educational institution.
- Once configured, you should be able to use this profile to connect to the encrypted Wi-Fi at SLU and sister Eduroam institutions.
