Android Connection to SLU Wireless

Android Devices:

Many faculty, staff, and students have phones and tablets that use the Android operating system. The following process enables those devices to connect to the encrypted SLU-users wireless network on campus.

There are two sets of instructions below:

  • Samsung Galaxy 
  • Google Pixel

Choose the instructions that most closely match your Android device.

NOTE: If screen captures would help you with this installation, there are two PDFs attached to the right for these devices.

Process for Samsung Galaxy and Similar Devices:

  1. Select Settings on your Android device.
  2. Select Connections.
  3. Select Wi-Fi.
  4. Select SLU-users option that is broadcasting.
  5. Confirm or modify the following settings:
  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Identity: Enter your SLU Net ID
  • Password: Enter your SLU Net password
  • CA certificate: Don't validate
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • Anonymous identity: leave blank
  • IP setting: DHCP
  • Proxy: None
  • Metered network: Detect automatically
  1. Click Connect.
  2. The manually-configured SLU-users should now connect automatically.

Process for Google Pixel and Similar Devices:

  1. Select Settings on your Android device.
  2. Select Network & internet.
  3. Select Internet.
  4. Select SLU-users option that is broadcasting.
  5. Confirm or modify the following settings:
  • EAP method: PEAP
  • Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
  • CA certificate: Trust on First Use
  • Identity: Enter your SLU Net ID
  • Anonymous identity: leave blank
  • Password: Enter your SLU Net password
  1. Click Connect.
  2. The manually-configured SLU-users should now connect automatically.
