Accessing Microsoft 365 Apps on Mobile Devices

Summary

This article explains how @health.slu.edu users access Microsoft 365 apps on IOS and Android devices after mobile app protection is applied.
Users will see a one-time message in Microsoft apps such as Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Copilot stating that organizational data is being protected. iPhone and iPad users should tap OK and reopen the app if it restarts. Android users should tap Continue and resume using the app.

What You Will See

The first time you open each protected Microsoft app, you will see a message saying that your organization is protecting data in the app.

For example, you will see it once for Outlook, once for Teams, once for OneDrive, and for other protected Microsoft apps.

IOS Instructions

When the protection message appears:

  1. Tap OK.
  2. The app will restart.
  3. Reopen the app.
  4. Continue using the app normally.

No device re-enrollment is required.

No app reinstall is required.

Android Instructions

When the protection message appears:

  1. Tap Continue.
  2. Allow the app to finish applying the protection policy.
  3. Continue using the app normally.

What If the App Does Not Open Correctly?

Try the following steps:

  1. Fully close the app.
  2. Reopen the app.
  3. Confirm you are signed in with your @health.slu.edu account.
  4. Restart your phone.
  5. Try opening the app again.

If the issue continues, contact the Service Desk.
