Directions:

If you have archived videos in Panopto, they will need to be restored before anyone will be able to watch them.  There are two ways you can access the archive to restore videos.  If you know what folder the video was in, you can restore it directly from the folder.   You can also search the archive directly to find the video to restore.

Note: It can take up to 48 hours, but it may take less time.

 

Restoring an archived video from a folder:

If the video you wish to restore is in a specific folder, you can restore the video directly from the folder.

  1. Log into auth.slu.edu with your username and password.
  2. Click the Panopto tile.
  3. Navigate to the Panopto folder that holds your videos.
  4. If you have archived videos, you will see a box icon above your videos to the right of the Scheduled recordings icon.

  5. Click the icon to see your archived videos. Note that the thumbnails are grayed out.
  6. When you mouse over a thumbnail, a restore icon will appear in its top right corner. 
    Note: you can choose multiple videos at this point.

  7. You will see a notice asking if you are sure you want to restore the selected items.
  8. Click OK.
  9. It can take up to 48 hours for the video to be restored to your video folder.

 

Restoring an archived video directly from the archive:

If you cannot find the video you wish to restore in a specific folder, you can look in the archive to restore the video.

  1. Log into auth.slu.edu with your username and password.
  2. Click the Panopto tile.
  3. Once in Panopto, click on the "System" menu found in the lower left corner.  System Menu Icon
  4. From the system menu, click on the "Archive" menu item. 
  5. All of your recordings that are in the archive will be presented in one long list.  You can search by selecting a folder or typing text in the drop down:

        

  1. When you mouse over a thumbnail, a restore icon will appear in its top right corner.
