Wireless Presentation via AirMedia

Context:

AirMedia is a wireless display technology installed in many classrooms, meeting rooms, and presentation spaces throughout the campus. The instructions below step you through the process of installing and setting up the application to use this solution with your laptop (Mac or Windows) as well as with an iOS device (iPhone or iPad). Follow the appropriate instructions below for your presentation device.

NOTE: If you'd prefer to use instructions with screen captures, use the PDF located in the attachments area to the right.

Mac and Windows Laptops:

  1. Turn on the Crestron Panel and select Wireless or AirMedia as your source.
    When you do this, an IP Address will appear in the lower left corner of the display.
  2. Open a web browser on your laptop and type the IP Address and hit Enter.
  3. You may see a screen stating that your connection is not private.
    • If so, select the Advanced button in the lower left corner.
    • At the next screen, click the option to Proceed to the IP Address.
  4. Click Start Presenting in browser window.
  5. Download the Crestron AirMedia Application.
  6. Locate Crestron AirMedia in your Downloads folder and double-click it to run the software.
  7. You will be asked if you want to proceed. Click Agree or Open.
  8. On Windows: Of the three choices for Session Delegation, choose Deny and click the Blue OK Button.
  9. On Windows: Type the same IP Address from the screen into the Search Field and hit Enter.
  10. A Four-Digit Code will appear on the room’s screen. Type that code into the prompt on your laptop.
  11. On Mac: Click the Control Center icon at the top right of the screen and click on the Screen Mirroring icon then select the IP Address or Name for the room.
  12. When complete, choose Disconnect and Close the Application on your laptop.
  13. On Mac: Click the Contrrol Center icon at the top right of the screen and click on the Screen Mirroring icon then deselect the IP Address or Name for the room.

NOTE: If you have trouble connecting or get disconnected, try restarting your laptop.

iPhones and iPads:

  1. Open the App Store on your device and download the Crestron AirMedia App. (It's best to do this ahead of time before you are in the presentation space.)
  2. Turn on the Crestron Panel and select Wireless or AirMedia as your source.
    When you do this, an IP Address will appear in the lower left corner of the display.
  3. . Open the AirMedia App on your device. When the app says it would like to find devices on the network, tap the Allow button.
  4. You will be prompted to agree to Crestron's Privacy Statement. Tap the Blue Agree Button to proceed.
  5. On the page with Session Delegation Options, select Deny and then tap the Blue OK Button.
  6. On the Connect Page, enter the IP Address from the screen in the Search Field and tap Go.
  7. A Four-Digit Code will appear on the screen. Type that code into the prompt on your device and tap OK.
  8. Swipe up (on iPhones) or down from the upper right (on iPads) to reveal the Control Center and tap the Screen Mirroring Icon.
  9. Select the IP Address for the AirMedia device in the room.
    NOTE: If more than one option, select Only IP Address version.
  10. A Four-Digit Code will appear on the screen once again. Type that code into the prompt on your device and tap OK.
  11. When complete:
    1. Tap the Disconnect Button
    2. Swipe to reveal your Control Center, tap the Screen Mirroring Icon, then tap the Stop Mirroring Option at the bottom of the screen
    3. You should get a message saying that you've been Disconnected - Tap OK
    4. Close the Crestron AirMedia App.

NOTE: If you have trouble connecting or get disconnected, try restarting your device.
