Improve the usability and accessibility of your course content
Your class is full of diverse students with unique learning abilities. Providing them with more accessible content means they can choose formats that work best for them. These include HTML for improved reading on mobile phones, Electronic Braille for people with visual impairments, and Audio for learning on the go. Ally automatically scans your content, and performs the following series of steps to make course materials more accessible:
- Generates alternative formats for students to download
- Provides instructors with accessibility scores on course materials
- Gives instructor feedback on how to improve your accessibility score
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of The Rehabilitation Act of 1973 guarantee protection from discrimination and equal access to opportunity for people with disabilities. Faculty members have the responsibility to:
- Provide accommodations to students who have approved need
- Maintain the privacy of students with disabilities
- Give accommodations consistently and in a timely fashion
