How To Install a new PaperCut Printer or Print Queue on a Mac

The following steps will guide the reader through installing a new PaperCut printer or Print Queue to a Mac device.

Resolution

  1. First, be sure to connect to the SLU domain or connect to the Global Protect VPN connection.
  2. Click Command + K on the keyboard.
  3. Type smb://fvwpcutp01 into the 'Connect to Server' window.
  4. Click the Connect button in the lower right corner of the pop-up window.
  5. Sign-In as a Registered User with SLU Credentials.
  6. Select or Highlight PCClient from the Volume menu, then click Ok.
  7. Locate and open the PCClient folder in the Finder Window.
  8. Double-click the mac folder to open.
  9. Locate and double-click to run the client-local-install file.
  10. Agree to the Terms and Conditions and then run through all steps of the Installer.
  11. Once complete, a login window will appear. Login using your SLU Credentials to confirm your identity.
  12. Next, open System Preferences on the Mac device.
  13. Navigate to Printers and Scanners.
  14. Click on the + icon in the lower left corner to add to your list of available printers.
  15. A list of potential printers from PaperCut will appear.
  16. Find and Select the desired Printer or Print Queue from the list.
  17. Click Add in the lower right corner to begin installation.
  18. Repeat steps 14-17 for any additional printers or print queues that need to be added.
