How do I add videos to my Canvas Panopto video folder?

We don't have the storage capacity to host multimedia files directly in Canvas. The best practice is to store videos in Panopto and link to them from Canvas modules.

Here are the steps to upload a video to your Canvas Panopto folder.

1. Point your web browser to mySLU.slu.edu and log in with your SLU Net ID and Password.
2. Go to the Tools tab and click on the Canvas tile to launch the Canvas LMS.
3. Navigate to the course you want to work in.
4. Make sure the Panopto Video link is visible.
5. If it is not visible, click the Settings link at the lower left side of the course.
6. Click the Navigation tab at the top of the Settings area.
7. Drag Panopto Video up until it is in the visible links area.
8. When the link is visible in your course navigation, click the link to be taken to your Panopto video area.
9. Click Create at the top of the page.
10. From the drop down menu, click Upload media.
11. Navigate to the video on your computer and upload it to Panopto. (This may take a while to process.)
12. After the video has processed, you can link to or embed it within your Canvas course.
