Updating Verification Method:
If you get a new phone, change your number, or have some other reason to change the information in Okta to verify your identity, follow the instructions below.
- Open a web browser and go to auth.slu.edu.
- Log in using your SLU Net ID and password.
- Choose your form of authentication and verify your identity.
- Click on your name in the upper-right corner.
- Choose Settings.
- If present, click the green Edit Profile button in the upper-right corner and log in again if necessary.
- Scroll down until you see the heading that says Extra Verification.
- Click the Remove button beside whichever authentication methods you need to update.
(e.g., if you have a new phone number, click the Remove button beside SMS Authentication and Voice Call Authentication.)
- Now click the Setup button beside the authentication method which requires your updated information.
To provide a specific example, the following steps are based on the Voice Call Authentication option.
- In the case of the Voice Call Authentication, you will be presented with a Configure Factor button. Click it.
- Confirm your country at the top, enter your phone number, click the Call button.
- Pick up your phone when you receive the call and listen to the message.
- Enter the code you been given and click the Verify button.
- Once complete, the screen will return you to the Settings screen for Okta.
- Proceed to click Remove and Reset for any other verification methods you need to update.
NOTE: Steps10-13 will vary slightly between the different verification methods you choose.
Other Update Options
Once you've logged into Okta via steps 1-6 above, you may update other information in your Okta account including performing the following:
- Edit Personal Information
- Change Your Selected Security Image
- Modify Your Display Language
- Change Your Password
- Change Your Forgotten Password Question
- Change Your Phone Number For Your Fogotten Password Text Message
- Change Your Phone Number For Your Fogotten Password Voice Call
